Maggie graduated from Montreat-Anderson Junior College, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Union-Presbyterian School of Christian Education where she received her Masters of Divinity.

She is married to Zack Allen. Her daughter Selena and husband Kelly live in Chapel Hill and have two children, Olive and Ruth. Her son Jon and wife Tammy live in Nashville.
"I have always felt the Holy Spirit called me to this church," Maggie said, "and the experience has been one of the greatest blessings of my life." Email Maggie

picAimee Tomcho, Office Administrator
Aimee Tomcho grew up in Northern Virginia; she moved to Asheville in October 1999, and then to Burnsville in October 2005. She received both a BS (Virginia Tech) and MS (Clemson) in Natural Resources and worked for the US Forest Service for many years. When her at-home scientific editing position ended and the administrative job at the church came available simultaneously, she heeded God’s sign to develop another facet of her career and life at church. Working for First Presbyterian since September 2008, she helps produce weekly bulletins and monthly newsletters, as well as other tasks to keep the office running smoothly. She is most interested in mission and children’s activities at the church. You can reach her at the Laughrun House office M-TH at 682.4789. Email Aimee

picJim Ludwig
Jim came to FPC Burnsville with his family in the spring of 2005 and immediately felt like he had found the church he had always been looking for. "It is amazing how my faith has grown in such a nurturing environment. I always knew I had a strong faith in God, but never found the place where it could grow." He became an elder in the fall of that 2006 and also chairs the Mission Committee. Jim owns an internet retail business with his wife Mary and has two wonderful kids, Sarah and Alex. The other not so ordinary fact about him is that he designed and built his own house along with Mary and they live off the grid with a home renewable power system using hydro and solar energy. It only took a few visits to know that First Presbyterian Church was where God wanted me.
I have now been a member for over three years and still get excited when I walk in the doors. As an elder I wear many hats from administration to congregational care. I remember a sermon I heard once where you can choose to watch the parade or be in the parade. Being an elder you are definitely in the parade. But you don't have to be an elder to be in the parade. I want to encourage as many members and visitors to become part of the parade. We are all disciples of Christ and please contact me if you need any ideas on where you can fit into our parade. Now, Susan fills her days with volunteer work in the community and with her eight grandchildren. "I feel very blessed to live in this beautiful part of our country and to have found such a blessed church home." Email Susan
